About Us

Mr. Campbell has eight years of classroom teaching, one and a half years as a Central Office Administrator, and four years as Assistant Principal of Downingtown High School East. He has a great depth of knowledge in the STEM fields, having served as the district’s Mathematics and Science supervisor from January 2007 through July 2008.

Before coming to Downingtown in January 2007, Mr. Campbell was a Physics and Mathematics teacher in the Eastern Lancaster County and Radnor Township School Districts. He holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Gwynedd Mercy College and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University. He is currently enrolled at Drexel University in the Educational Leadership and Management EdD program.

Mr. Sheehan's dedication to the Academy started with his involvement with the STEM planning committee, acting on the Curriculum and Programming sub-committees. Prior to joining the STEM faculty, he taught Physics and Introduction to Chemistry and Physics for eight years at Downingtown West High School. Mr. Sheehan’s role at West not only included teaching Physics, but he also served as an advisor to the LINK group and as a Math and Science tutor after school.

Mr. Sheehan graduated in 2002 from Bloomsburg University with a B.S.Ed in Physics Education. He earned his M.Ed in Science Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University in 2009 and a Graduate Certificate in Principalship in 2012. He is certified in both Mathematics and Physics. Prior to becoming the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, he taught 9th Grade Physics, IB Physics, and Forensics here at the Academy.

Ms. Cole is driven by a passion for student success and seeks to engage stakeholders in thoughtful communication, advocacy, and establish partnerships which bolster the STEM Academy's collaborative vision.  Her diverse teaching and learning experiences span across the state of Pennsylvania, but her roots grow from Chester County.  After graduating from Great Valley High School, Ms. Cole attended Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA as a scholar athlete earning her B.A. in History/Pre-Law with a Spanish minor in 2003.  She expanded her undergraduate experience by studying Spanish language and history at Universidad Internacional in Cuernavaca, Mexico.  

Acknowledging her desire to work in the field of education prompted Ms. Cole to attend West Chester University where, in 2006, she earned her M.Ed. in Professional and Secondary Education.  She has since become a Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project Fellow & Teacher Consultant.  In 2005 Ms. Cole secured a Social Studies teaching position with the Springfield School District in Delaware County, PA, serving as a high school educator and Department Manager for nine years before moving into the Dean of Students role at E.T. Richardson Middle School. She earned her Principal Certification from Drexel University in 2015.

With great enthusiasm Mrs. Cole joined the administrative team at the Downingtown STEM Academy in 2017 and loves helping extraordinary students do extraordinary things!

Troy began his career at DASD as a student teacher at DHS West. Thereafter, he taught Social Studies at the STEM Academy, and served as K-12 Social Studies Curriculum Leader. He then moved into administrative roles for the district, first as the Coordinator of Career Readiness, and now as Teaching and Learning Supervisor.  In all his various roles, Troy’s passion is to help young people define and pursue happiness. He takes great pride in working with stakeholders in the Greater Philadelphia region to create meaningful career exploration opportunities for our students.

Troy is a graduate of Dobbs Ferry High School, an IB World School in Westchester, New York. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media from Temple University, Troy worked for CBS Radio as an Account Executive. He then pivoted into the field of education, and has been happily tied to DASD ever since. Troy holds a Master of Science in Adolescent Education from Mercy College, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the American College of Education.
