STEM In Our Community

The goal of the STEM Academy is for students to be "career aware" prior to graduation.

Pathways Program

In partnership with businesses, corporations, parents and students, the Academy has identified four critical areas of academia that will promote student growth through inquiry and project-based learning. The four "Pathways" are an opportunity for students to explore, create, and innovate in a 21st Century STEM program.  Each student chooses a Pathways class during their Junior/Senior year, selecting from the following choices:

The STEM Academy is forging relationships with local businesses and corporations to provide experiential learning opportunities for students. Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning through site visitations, guest lectures, mentors, and career explorations with our business and corporate partners.
The Practicum provides students with the opportunity to make informed decisions regarding their future career choices and is designed for career readiness and is connected to work force development.
The Practicum “process” starts in the freshman year with soft skills training which prepares the students for their practicum; continues with a Career Fair junior year to match students with career exploration opportunities , and culminates with a career exploration experience typically occurring the summer between junior and senior year.
