STEM Academy Reseach Club: Delaware Valley Science Fair, Wednesday April 5

Congratulations to all STEM Academy Research Club participants at the Delaware Valley Science Fair which occurred on Wednesday, April 5th. Students competed with over a thousand other qualified projects from eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware for scholarships, awards and prizes.

The Academy took four students to DVSF, pictured from left to right are Saptak Das (11), Sohum Gautam (10), Ishaan Baheti (10) and Prithvi Vijay (11).

Club members were recognized with over $10,000 in prizes and scholarships. The following is a list of category awards won by students:

• Saptak Das, 3rd Place 11th Grade Mathematics
• Ishan Baheti, 3rd Place 10th Grade Physics
• Sohum Gautam, Honorable Mention 10th Grade Physics

At DVSF Mr. Ocepek was honored with the DuPont Excellence in Teaching Award. This award salutes teachers for many years of dedication and service to the Delaware Valley Science Fairs and support of STEM education in their communities. It is presented to two teachers who demonstrate extraordinary teaching skills, communicate STEM inquiry and learning, and a talent for motivating and supporting their students. The award consists of $500, a plaque, and an all-expenses paid trip to the International Science and Engineering Fair.
