This past week, Downingtown STEM had 12 students compete in 9 total events at the DECA International Career Development Conference. Students qualified for this competition through regional and state competitions throughout the year. Getting to this competition means these students already were in the top 10% of competitors in the world. Four students, in three events, moved on to the finalist round of competition. All three ended up in the top 10 in the world in their events (0.5% in the world). One came in second in the world in their event! Under the advising of Tara Woomer and Justin Staub, the Downingtown STEM Academy continues to be one of the most successful DECA chapters in the world.
