Student Clubs & Organizations

We are committed to providing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) prevention and awareness, education, and support to the communities of southeast Pennsylvania.

Art club strives to ensure that all students have the ability to incorporate art into their education through student-centered visual art activities, lessons, games, and community collaborations.

As the premiere biology competition for high school students in the United States, the USA Biolympiad (USABO) enriches the life science education of nearly 10,000 talented students annually. It provides the motivation, curricular resources, and skills training to take them beyond their classroom experience to the level of international competitiveness. Check out "What Is the USABO?" in the toolbar above for further information about the USABO. 

After two rounds of challenging online exams, twenty Finalists  are invited to a residential training program where they learn advanced biological concepts and exacting lab skills at the USABO National Finals. At the 2022 National Finals, Derek Chen, Lawrence Long, Greycen Ren, and Jason Wang earned the right as the USA Biolympiad Team to represent the USA at the 2022 International Biology Olympiad (IBO). The Team was honored in Washington DC by Congressman Dunn and Senator Rosen at fly-in event in their honor that included a tour of the Capitol. 

Since CEE began administering the USABO, every member of the "USA Biolympiad Team" has medaled at the IBO. All four members of the USA Biolympiad Team in years 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017 were awarded gold medals. The USA Biolympiad Team has achieved the coveted Number 1 position in the world in 2011 and 2013. The USA Biolympiad Team received 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals at the 2021  International Biology Olympiad Challenge II, Lisbon, Portugal. The 2023 International Biology Olympiad will be held in United Arab Emirates. Dates and location to follow.

We are a volunteering club that does various student run initiatives to make a difference in the world while also showcasing our talents and interests, and we have leadership and volunteering opportunities.

STEM C.H.A.N.G.E.

Our three step model provides kids with the essentials they need, free of charge. This enables us to engage communities that have, connecting them with communities that need.

• New and nearly new children’s items are collected through grassroots community drives and corporate donations.
• Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers in our warehouse, The Giving Factory.
• Packages from The Giving Factory are distributed to local disadvantaged children through our collaborative network of diverse service partners.

We increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating Social Entrepreneurs, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls.

Days for Girls

Delta Epsilon Phi (ΔΕΦ) National Honor Society for High School Students of German recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of learners of German. The organization was founded in 1968 by Käthe Wilson at Coral Gables High School (FL), a devoted AATG member, to reward scholastic achievement in the study of German and to promote interest in the study of German language, literature, and civilization.

 For induction, a student must have completed at least three semesters of German classes, with a 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale, calculated on a cumulative basis for all semesters. The student must also have at least a 3.0 GPA in other classes, although this prerequisite varies by school.

GNHS

Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities.

Keyclub

NACLO is a contest in which high-school students solve linguistic problems. In solving these problems, students learn about the diversity and consistency of language, while exercising logic skills. No prior knowledge of linguistics or second languages is necessary. Professionals in linguistics, computational linguistics and language technologies use dozens of languages to create engaging problems that represent cutting edge issues in their fields. The competition has attracted top students to study and work in those same fields. It is truly an opportunity for young people to experience a taste of natural-language processing in the 21st century.

NACLO

Founded in 1984, Science Olympiad is the premier team STEM competition in the nation, providing standards-based challenges to 6,000 teams at 425 tournaments in all 50 states. 2023 Rules Released 9/6/22, followed by fall workshops and national Workshop Wednesdays showcasing innovative content. Become a member through your State Chapter to play, study using 46 event pages for Div B and Div C, and check out prep materials from our SO Store plus official kits from Ward's Science. SO

SFA is entering its third year as a club for the 2025-2026 school year. We seek to provide opportunities for the S.T.E.M. community to interact and help local shelter animals.

STEM TV is a morning news show that hosts daily segments all year long. The club started production in 2011, growing each year and adding on numerous events. Members can anchor and host in front of the camera, either for the regular morning news, or a segment of their own making. For those who prefer not to be on camera, positions such as sound and transitions are available.

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events.

TEDx

STEM's very own drama club dedicated to producing a variety of plays: dramas, comedies, Shakespeare, and even shows written by our very own students! Each year, we perform in the fall and spring. Look out for auditions and get involved in stage crew!

The goal of the Unite for HER Club at the Downingtown STEM Acaemy is to raise support and awareness for individuals affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
